Canada 2011 Fundraising Race Night
This will be held on Saturday 22nd January 2011 at Calow Community Centre. Doors open at 7pm.
This is an all ticket event with limited seating. Ticket will be on sale from mid November priced at £5 each which includes a Pea & Pie Supper. (Details on ticket availability to follow)
The night will iclude 8 races, one of which will be an Auction Race, for which horses can only be purchased via bids on the night. There are therefore 56 horses available to ‘buy’ in advance, priced at £7 each which can then be named by their owner. The ‘Owner’ of the winning horse in each race will be presented with a certificate and prize by the Race Sponsor. Betting will be limited to 50p per bet.
We are currently looking for sponsors for each race and have two ‘packages’ available.
Each race will be named in honour of a celebrity who has provided the group with an autographed item for fundraising, accompanied by the name of at least one sponsor e.g. ‘The Sir Henry Cooper Glyn Jones Knockout Stakes’ or the ‘Lester Piggot Brimington Financial Services Chase’ etc. We are therefore appealing to local companies, the employers of group members and individuals for Race Sponsorship for each of the eight races. Each race may have more than one sponsor.
Package A – Standard Race Sponsor
This costs £25 and includes your company name in the race title, a ¼ A5 sized (full colour) advert in the event programme, the opportunity to supply/distribute business cards/flyers etc. at the event plus inclusion on the (still to be added) Race Night sponsors page of the Group’s website with a link to your own website.
Package B – Elite Race Sponsor
This costs £50 and includes all of the above (although the advert will be ½ A5 sized) plus two free entry tickets to the event (normally £5 each including Pea & Pie Supper) and the opportunity to have your photograph taken presenting a prize to the winning owner of the horse in your race in a specially constructed ‘Winners Enclosure’…complete with ‘Jockey’ and incorporating your company’s name in the race title. This will be printed, mounted and presented to you before the end of the evening as a memento.
We are also looking to find at least one main sponsor for the event at £100, who will receive all the benefits of Standard Race Sponsorship, plus 2 free tickets and front page billing on the event programme as main sponsors and representation on all other printed media (posters, tickets etc.).
